Thanks for your thoughts, Michael.

Thanks for your thoughts, Michael. I agree with you. Much of our angst has to do with power and redistributing it — especially angst from those with a scarcity mindset and believe in zero sum economics. Generative AI has a chance to radically redistribute and normalize power — which is extremely threatening to those who have it or wield it conventionally. As far as critical thinking goes — I touched on related ideas in my TED X talk on "the technology of better humans": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6pnG6-UvFc

Prometheus and GPT

Confronting the tension between withholding and democratizing the latest civilization-shaking technology — Prometheus was a titan in Greek mythology responsible for creating humans and gifting them the power of knowledge — including fire. Now, the gods of Olympus — particularly Zeus — saw humans as a threat and preferred that they be kept in a primitive state and ordered Prometheus to remove…

I disagree.

I disagree. Sonos went the multi-voice-assistant route and so successfully bridged both the Google and Amazon voice assistant user bases.

Who to vote for in Product Hunt’s 2020 Golden Kitty Awards

Even though 2020 was a shit year, that didn’t stop makers from making — In fact, innovation accelerated in several key areas owing to the unprecedented environment we found ourselves in due to the pandemic. Why Silicon Valley Is All Wrong About the Cybertruck

Elon Musk’s future Tesla is a truck like the iPhone is a phone — Silicon Valley is all wrong about the Cybertruck, but not like it was wrong about Apple’s AirPods or Amazon’s Echo Show. The Cybertruck reimagines what a truck is, constitutionally. It’s such a savage departure from our expectations that define a “truck” that we need a new word. …
