I don't (didn't) have a problem "keeping it in my pants".
Rather, I simply didn't find marriage's one-size-fits-all approach to matrimonial bliss suitable for my needs.
I wrote about my learnings trying to explore alternatives, and shared many of my missteps and how I was forced to question more deeply what kind of connection I was seeking and how I could show up with greater integrity in my relationships.
I made many mistakes, but few were related to failing to keep it in my pants. Much more challenging was growing emotional depth, inner honesty, and resilience, which, no doubt, are characteristics that are much less interesting to caricature.
But I agree with you that having my Medium post linked from The Atlantic was quite the surprise!
